Introductions

Postby HRCChair09_Katy » Tue Nov 03, 2009 9:21 am

Dear Delegates of the Human Rights Committee,

Welcome to the BERMUN 09 conference! Please use this part of the forum to introduce yourself briefly by stating your name, age, where you are from, the country you will represent, hobbies, and anything else you would like to add. This forum will serve as an excellent source for you to get to know each other better before the conference and start exchanging ideas. Please take full advantage of the forum as it has proven itself very successful in the past. It's a great way to get your ideas out there to make the lobbying process run more smoothly, thereby ensuring fruitful debates at the conference.

Allow me to introduce myself briefly. My name is Katharina Schaper and I attend the John F. Kennedy School here in Berlin, Germany. I am 16 years old and will have the honor of serving as your chair to the Human Rights Committee at this year's BERMUN conference, alongside Elvin Bora, our outside chair from Turkey. My mom is American and my dad german, which brought me to this school. In my free time I enjoy singing, acting and exploring the beautiful city of Berlin. Berlin is truly an amazing city and I am sure that it will add to your overall experience during your time here. I very much look forward to working together with all of you to make this conference a unique experience for all of us.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to post them and I'll be sure to reply!

Good luck with your conferece preparation, see you in November!

Hello everybody,

I'm Bettina Frevert, 18, and I also go to the John F. Kennedy School here in Berlin.
I'm German, but I lived in the United States for a third of my life, and also in Madrid, Spain. What I enjoy doing when school doesn't keep me busy are things like playing tennis and horseback riding, as well as playing the flute - and the typical hanging-out with friends thing, going to bars, etc etc.

This is my first BERMUN - and I'll be representing Nigeria.

Looking forward to meeting all of you soon!
Bettina

Hello delegates!
I'm Monika, 16 and live in Poland. This is my first MUN I'm going to take part in. I'm really excited about it but also a little scared.
My passion is chemistry. I enjoy drama movies and philosophy. I'm going to represent Azerbaijan.
I cannot wait to meet you soon ;)
Monika
ps- why no one exchanges ideas of the topics?

Hello everybody,
I'm Camilla. I am nearly 18 years old and I come from Szczecin International School in Poland. I'm half Polish, half Italian and I lived in Italy for few years. That's going to be my first MUN, even if last year we applied for one but it was cancelled. School keeps me busy the whole time but I can still find sometime for reading books and travelling. Travelling is my passion along with a special 'thing' for studying languages. Finding out new information about different cultures and religions is very fascinating for me so that I perceive the world much more friendly.
I am a Chad representative.

Looking forward to see you!
Camilla

Hi,

I am Arda Can (second name pronounced like "John"). I will be the representative of the bank all you member states have at least once been to: the World Bank. I also come from Turkey and am 16. I have attended several MUN and European Youth Parliament conferences and I actually am the vice president of an EYP conference that we hold in my school. As of my hobbies, I play the bass guitar in two different bands, I am in a rowing team, I literally love politics and obviously attending this kind of conferences is one of my hobbies. I also hope that, on behalf of my institution, I would like to say that I am sure that the World Bank will help the member states provide a healthier dialogue and I would once again want to make everybody sure that we will be the top negotiator as we will be representing no state ideology.

Hia ! My name is Stefanie, I'm 18 and attend the 13th grade at the John F. Kennedy School Berlin. I will be representing Russia in this year's BERMUN conference. This is my 8th MUN conference and therefore debating and politics are a passion of mine. Other than that I'm German, but the world is my home. As daughter of a German diplomat, I have traveled the world all my life, making me a total cosmopolitan. My hobbies include ballroom dancing, horseback riding, going out, shopping and watching movies!
I'm looking forward to meeting all everyone and getting into debate and making a difference! =)
