Questions

Postby DC_Russia08 » Mon Nov 03, 2008 9:56 pm

Hello,
while I'm writing my resolution I'm asking myself if we, the DC, are allowed to send troops or other "UN workers" or if the Security Council is the only council that is allowed to do such actions.
I'm quite unsure in the moment ....

Dear delegate of Russia,

you are correct that the Security Council is the only organ that can send troops to a conflict region.
We hope that there are better solutions to the topics that your committee will face, however, if you felt so strongly about this topic, the possibility would remain to suggest that the SC debate to send troops to the region.
Hope this helps,
David

Ok, thanks! :) But are we then allowed to condemn other countries in our resolutions?

Well actually the phrase "condemning" also belongs to the Security Council. Traditionally GA committees aren't allowed to "condemn" countries in resolutions. The resolutions in GA committees can be "deeply concerned with" a country but they can't "condemn" a country. I hope that helps...

Actually I didn't also expect such a good party, 'cause I knew that it wouldn't be my music taste ... but the people were really cool and I think that is the most thing that matters! :D
